Tajikistan, Saudi Arabia Seek Deeper Interparliamentary Ties

The speaker of Tajikistan’s Lower House of Parliament, Faizali Idizoda, met with Dr. Abdullah bin Mohammed bin Ibrahim Al-Sheikh, chairman of Saudi Arabia’s Shura Council, to discuss expanding interparliamentary and economic cooperation, Tajikistan’s lower house of parliament said.
Al-Sheikh is on an official visit to Tajikistan.
During the meeting, Idizoda said relations between Tajikistan and Saudi Arabia have continued to deepen in recent years, citing growing cooperation in the political, economic, investment, cultural and humanitarian fields.
The two sides expressed confidence that Al-Sheikh’s visit would strengthen interparliamentary cooperation and promote broader bilateral ties. They also noted the steady expansion of economic and investment cooperation between the two countries.
Idizoda highlighted the role of parliamentary diplomacy in strengthening bilateral relations and building mutual trust.
The talks also focused on expanding cooperation in trade, investment, energy, industry, agriculture, education, science, culture and tourism.
