Tajik deputy FM attends EU-Central Asia political and security dialogue in Brussels

DUSHANBE, July 17, 2026 (NIAT Khovar) – Deputy Foreign Minister of Tajikistan Idibek Kalandar participated in the 13th EU–Central Asia High-Level Political and Security Dialogue held in Brussels on July 16.
The meeting focused on the development of cooperation between the European Union and Central Asia in the areas of politics, security and resilience, as well as the implementation of agreements reached at the first EU–Central Asia Summit and under the EU–Central Asia Joint Roadmap.
Participants exchanged views on expanding cooperation in combating terrorism, preventing violent extremism and radicalisation, strengthening border management, countering drug trafficking, promoting regional water cooperation and improving connectivity.
The dialogue also addressed key international and regional issues of mutual interest.
