On Sept. 4, 2026, the Embassy of the Republic of Tajikistan to the United Kingdom hosted an official reception in London to mark the 35th anniversary of the State Independence of the Republic of Tajikistan. The event also featured an exhibition and a cultural showcase highlighting Tajikistan’s history, culture and achievements.

The reception brought together senior representatives of the UK Government, the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office, members of Parliament and the House of Lords, officials from government ministries and agencies, members of the diplomatic corps accredited in London, representatives of the private sector, media, academic and cultural institutions, and members of the Tajik community in the United Kingdom.

In her remarks, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Tajikistan to the United Kingdom Rukhshona Emomali highlighted the historical and political significance of State Independence and the country’s achievements under the leadership of the Founder of Peace and National Unity, Leader of the Nation and President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Emomali Rahmon.

The ambassador also underscored Tajikistan’s growing international role and the prospects for further strengthening bilateral relations and expanding mutually beneficial cooperation between Tajikistan and the United Kingdom.

Following the official ceremony, renowned Tajik singer Hujastai Mirzovali performed traditional Tajik songs and opera pieces, adding a distinctive cultural dimension to the celebration and creating a warm and festive atmosphere.
