Tajikistan, in cooperation with the United Nations and other international partners, will host a high-level international conference in Dushanbe in May 2027 to mark the launch of the International Decade for Strengthening Peace for Future Generations, President Emomali Rahmon announced during his address at the seventh summit of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence-Building Measures in Asia (CICA) in Baku, Azerbaijan.

Emomali Rahmon said strengthening peace and trust in international relations is not merely a political position for Tajikistan but a key priority of its foreign policy.

He noted that Tajikistan had initiated the designation of 2027-2036 as the International Decade for Strengthening Peace for Future Generations, an initiative subsequently adopted by the U.N. General Assembly.

According to Emomali Rahmon, implementing the decade’s objectives will help establish a foundation for constructive dialogue among states, promote a culture of peace and prevent conflicts.

He expressed confidence that the conference would contribute to the successful launch of the decade and further strengthen peace, dialogue, solidarity and cooperation worldwide.
