Project on inclusive education for children with disabilities begins in Dushanbe
Dushanbe, 25.02.2016. (NIAT “Khovar”). — Association for Aid and Relief, Japan (AAR Japan) begins a year-long project on inclusive education for children with disabilities in Dushanbe with financial assistance from the Japanese government.
According to Japan Embassy in Dushanbe, to commemorate this occasion, Embassy of Japan in the Republic of Tajikistan hosted the signing ceremony on the 25th of February 2016. Mr. Takashi Kamada, Charge d`affaires of the Embassy of Japan in the Republic of Tajikistan, representatives from the Ministry of Education and Science, Dushanbe City Department of Education, partner organizations, and partner schools observed the ceremony.
«Through the close cooperation with the Ministry of Education and Science and Dushanbe City Department of Education, AAR aims at supporting the current efforts of the government of the Republic of Tajikistan for inclusive education, defined in the “National Conceptual Framework for the Inclusive Education of Children with Disabilities in the Republic of Tajikistan for the period from 2011 to 2015”. In this project, AAR Japan will install accessible sports ground at the school No.28, 72, 54, and Gymnasium No.53 of Dushanbe in order to promote the socialization of all students between classes and through the physical education classes», -source noted.
The source also added that additionally a small space will be created inside of the Dushanbe City Department of Education to establish information management system on inclusive education and strengthen the inclusive education network in the city. Seminars, trainings, and awareness raising activities will be conducted continuously during the project.
This project will be the third of the three phases that AAR implements for inclusive education. The four partner schools in Dushanbe from the previous projects will continue working with AAR as leading schools of inclusive education in Tajikistan.
