Briefing on Identifying and Preventing Coronavirus Held at the Dushanbe International Airport

DUSHANBE, 31.01.2020. (NIAT Khovar) – Yesterday, a briefing on identifying and preventing coronavirus was held at the Dushanbe International Airport. The briefing was initiated by the Press Centers of the Tajik Ministry of Health and Social Protection of the Population and Civil Aviation.

Deputy Minister of Health and Social Protection of the Population Mirhamuddin Kamolzoda and media representatives attended the briefing, during which journalists got acquainted with the preparation of the Dushanbe International Airport on identifying coronavirus from persons entering Tajikistan.

Mirhamuddin Kamolzoda“Considering the coronavirus’s state in China, the Ministry of Health and Social Protection of the Population in collaboration with relevant agencies is taking all necessary measures to identify and prevent this disease at the border checkpoints and international airports of the country,” Kamolzoda told reporters.

“Currently, Dushanbe and Khujand international airports are equipped with necessary equipment such as thermal imagers and thermal scanners, which are used on every person entering Tajikistan,” he added.

Those suspected of having been infected with the virus will be immediately placed in special rooms available at airports and transported by special vehicles to infectious diseases departments where they will be supervised by doctors.

Today, according to the instruction of the Minister of Health and Social Protection of the Population, all structures are instructed to examine all the passengers arriving in Tajikistan, and if necessary, take additional measures.

“The claims that have been published on the internet over the past few days regarding the presence of the coronavirus in Tajikistan is not true,” Kamolzoda told reporters.
