Working Trip of President Emomali Rahmon to Kulob

The Founder of Peace and National Unity, Leader of the Nation, President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon arrived in Kulob city and paid tribute to the memory of the oriental scholar and thinker Mir Sayyid Ali Hamadoni. Surahs from the Quran were recited and prayed for the stability, peace, well-being and prosperity of our Motherland.
As part of his working trip to Kulob, President Emomali Rahmon inspected project designs of the third stage of repair and reconstruction work of internal roads in Kulob, the first phase of the providing clean drinking water to the population of the Kulob and the project Municipal solid waste (MSW).
While inspecting project designs, the head of state was told that repair and reconstruction work of internal roads will be carried out in 12 streets of Kulob with the length of about 12 kilometers, and the 39-meter bridge connecting Kulob International Airport will be reconstructed. Modern lighting system will also be installed on the roads, while 35 km-long water supply system will be reconstructed for improving access to safe water, efficient use of water resources and enhancing the capacity of the water utilities.
The implementation of the Kulob Municipal solid waste (MSW) project has been started in 2017 with expenditure worth US 4 million dollars that consists of 3 stages. The MSW project will be completed in 2021. The purpose of this project is introducing modern ways of waste collection and storage, improving quality of service ensuring in urban solid waste management and environmental sanitation.
There he also attended the opening ceremony of the three-storey Sharora Modern Hotel, the unveiling ceremony of the non-state educational institution Kulob Medical College as well as the two-storey additional building of the Odil Komilov secondary educational institution No: 41 in Avicenna community.
In addition, in Khutalon Park, the head of state Emomali Rahmon held a meeting with 60 children deprived of parental care and handed them cash assistance, winter clothing and sweets.
Concluding his tour in Kulob, President Emomali Rahmon met with leadership and representatives of public. Kulob socio-economic development was the main item on the agenda.
During his speech before public representatives, President Emomali Rahmon noted that Government of Tajikistan allocated more than TJK 1 billion 200 million from the national budget to achieve sustainable socio-economic development of the Kulob city.
“During the period of independence, 24 public investment projects worth more than TJK 406 million were implemented in the city, now 15 other projects are under implementation” – noted President Emomali Rahmon and added that “we channeled more than TJK 1.800.000 from funding sources and construction and installation works have been done worth TJK 1.5 billion”.
He also pointed out that in order to decent celebration of the 30th anniversary of Tajikistan’s state independence an in accordance with the approved action plan, there are plans to construct 873 jubilee facilities in the city and districts of Kulob area, of which 391 facilities have been commissioned.
“In order to promote socio-economic development and raise standards of living, the Government of Tajikistan has adopted Kulob Socio-Economic Development Program for 2020-2025, which within its framework implementation of 221 projects worth 7 billion somoni is planned” – noted Emomali Rahmon.
“During the period of independence, in particular, the Dushanbe-Dangara-Kulob highway was reconstructed and the Bokhtar-Kulob railway was built and put into operation. A 110 km of intra-city road in Kulob was completely repaired and reconstructed” – emphasised head of state Emomali Rahmon.
In 2020, Kulob farms produced agricultural product worth 231 million Somoni, which is more compared last year.
During the period of independence, in Kulob city from funding sources 40 buildings of educational institutions and additional buildings with 12.200 seats have been built and put into operation worth TJK 108 million. Currently, 70 health care facilities, including 7 hospitals and 63 primary health care facilities serve the population of Kulob city and its communities.
The President of the country Emomali Rahmon stressed that the Government has built 42 health facilities, including 6 hospitals, 5 health care centers, and 31 medical clinics worth more than TJK 150 million and put them into operation with essential medical devices.
Concluding his speech, President Emomali Rahmon expressed confidence that the patriotic people of Kulob will be at the forefront of protecting the independence and freedom, peace and stability, national unity and progress of their homeland.
