President Emomali Rahmon Visits Roghun Dam Construction Site

DUSHANBE, 14.10.2020 (NIAT Khovar) – The Founder of Peace and National Unity, Leader of the Nation, President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon visited the Roghun Hydroelectric Power Plant (HPP) construction site.
The reservoir was raised to a height of 1080 meters above sea level. The material stacked in the dam amounted is 11.8 milliom cubic meters, including 8.3 million in the upper part and 3.5 in the lower part.
The total volume of work to be carried out is estimated at 79.4 million cubic meters. Today the water level at the reservoir is 1070 meters above sea level.
Currently, 12,707 workers and engineering and technical personnel, including 1,990 employees of the Webuild are engaged at the construction site in two shifts using 3,824 units of machinery and devices.
The construction of the fourth spillway tunnel is being completed by the Tojik Kon and the Swiss company Afri.
President Rahmon also got acquainted with complex of main water intakes of the Roghun HPP, whose construction is continued by the Oriono Company.
He also gets acquainted with the transport, spillway tunnels and hydro power mines. While visiting the construction tunnel ST-3 and ST- 4, whose project design is developed by RusHydro’s JSC Institute Hydroproject, Afri and Tono Energy International, President Rahmon instructed the engineering and technical staff of Rogun HPP to continue to pay special attention to the quality of the construction work.
