The meeting focused on the issues relating to the current state and prospects of bilateral cooperation between Tajikistan and Russia, in particular in the field of inter-parliamentary relations.
The officials paid special attention to the strengthening and expansion of mutually beneficial cooperation in trade and economic spheres and the attraction of investments into the economy.
It was noted that the two parliaments make a valuable contribution to strengthening the strategic partnership between Tajikistan and Russia, which is clearly reflected in the new forms of interregional cooperation. Today, more than 80 Russian regions have established mutually beneficial cooperation with Tajikistan. However, there are many untapped potentials in this area.
In this regard, there is a wide opportunity to expand mutually beneficial cooperation, including the establishment of joint ventures on the basis of local raw materials using Russian technology and its further export to its markets.
Rustam Emomali touched upon the issues of bilateral humanitarian and social cooperation and drew the attention of the Russian side to the issues of labor migration, which is one of the key issues of bilateral relations.
The coronavirus pandemic has created some restrictions on the activities of labor migrants.
In this regard, it was noted that Tajik citizens residing in Russia, some of whose documents do not comply with the legislation of this country, can be pardoned and re-registered until December 15.
The parties expressed confidence that with the change of the situation the restrictions related to COVID-19 will be removed soon.
