DUSHANBE, 05.07.2021 (NIAT Khovar) — Today, the Founder of Peace and National Unity — Leader of the Nation, President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon held a telephone conversation with the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
The conversation focused on regional security.
The discussion involved the alarming situation that is emerging today in the neighboring Afghanistan, especially in its northern and northeastern provinces, along the perimeter of which the state border of the two countries with Afghanistan runs.
President Emomali Rahmon informed the President of Uzbekistan about the new facts of the forced crossing of the state border line by the military personnel of the government forces of Afghanistan.
In this context, the situation on the border with this country was assessed as very tense.
The parties reaffirmed their readiness to further coordinate cooperation between security agencies and law enforcement agencies for strengthening the protection of the border with Afghanistan.
