Government Helps Families Affected by Avalanches in GBAO

DUSHANBE, 25.03.2022 (NIAT Khovar) – In the Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Region (GBAO), residents affected by the avalanche will be allocated land and assisted in the construction of new houses.
This decision was made during a working trip of the Secretary of the Security Council of Tajikistan Nasrullo Mahmudzoda to GBAO, who, together with the Chairman of the region Alisher Mirzonabot visited houses that were damaged during an avalanche.
First aid was provided to the owners of the affected houses, food products were handed over to citizens, including flour, butter, sugar, rice, as well as material assistance.
Mahmudzoda promised that the Government of Tajikistan would not leave them in trouble, would allocate land and help in the construction of new houses.
On March 16, an avalanche damaged 2 houses in the Pashor village of Shugnon district, while one building was completely destroyed.
In this regard, a commission for the elimination of the consequences of natural disasters was created in the Shugnon district.
The Office of the district chairman provided one-time material and food assistance to the affected residents.
