Russian FM Lavrov Arrives in Dushanbe to Attend CIS Ministerial Council Meeting

DUSHANBE, 12.05.2022 (NIAT Khovar) – Yesterday, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov arrived in Dushanbe to attend CIS ministerial meeting, reports Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan.
He arrived in Dushanbe from Muscat, where he was on a working visit.
Lavrov will take part in the meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the CIS countries, which will be held tomorrow in Dushanbe.
The meeting will focus on prospects for the development of cooperation within the CIS.
The ministers will pay special attention to the international security issues and the development of ties in the humanitarian and scientific fields.
The CIS ministerial meeting traditionally held twice a year. The next meeting is to be held in Nur-Sultan in October.
The CIS ministerial meeting is the Commonwealth’s main executive body. The CIS ministerial council coordinates the foreign policy activities of the member states, including their activities in international organizations.
