Speaker of the National Assembly Rustam Emomali Attends Central Asia-Russia Inter-Parliamentary Forum in Ashgabat

DUSHANBE, 12.05.2022 (NIAT Khovar) – Today, as part of his official visit to Ashgabat, the Speaker of the National Assembly, Chairman of Dushanbe Rustam Emomali took part in the flower-laying ceremony at the Monument to the Constitution of Turkmenistan. The flower-laying ceremony was also attended by Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty of the Milli Gengesh of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and heads of parliamentary delegations of Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan.
Then, the first meeting of the Central Asia-Russia Inter-Parliamentary Forum entitled “Inter-parliamentary cooperation is an integral part of interstate relations”, convened on the initiative of the Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty of the Milli Gengesh of Turkmenistan, the former President of this country Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, began its work at the Ashgabat Conference Center.
Initially, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and the Chairman of the Russian Federation Council Valentina Matvienko made welcoming speeches.
Rustam Emomali also took part in the forum and delivered speech.
In his speech, he stressed that the cooperation of national parliaments in the Central Asia — Russia format is of great importance and contributes to further strengthening the relationship between the countries.
Following the forum, the ceremony of signing bilateral documents took place.
Rustam Emomali and Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov signed an agreement on cooperation between the National Assembly of Tajikistan and the Halk Maslakhaty of the Milli Gengesh of Turkmenistan.
Then the work of the inter-parliamentary forum continued in the form of round tables, following which the Ashgabat Declaration of the Central Asia-Russia Inter-Parliamentary Forum was adopted as the final document.
