Tajik Delegation Attends UN-Water Summit on Groundwater in Paris

DUSHANBE, 08.12.2022 (NIAT Khovar) – From December 7 through December 8, at the UNESCO Headquarters in Paris, Tajik delegation headed by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Chairman of the National Commission for UNESCO Sirojiddin Muhriddin attended the UN-Water Summit on Groundwater.
The Summit was inaugurated by the Chair of the UN-Water Gilbert Houngbo, after which the floor was given to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan.
Muhriddin informed about the international initiatives of Tajikistan on water related issues, the results of the Second Dushanbe Conference on the Decade of Action “Water for Sustainable Development,” which was held in June this year as part of the Dushanbe Water Process, as well as on the preparations for the UN Water Conference in 2023.
More than 3700 representatives of countries and organizations around the world, including over 120 high-level speakers attended this Summit and its side events.
