Briefing on UN Water Conference Held in Kuwait

DUSHANBE, 10.03.2023 (NIAT Khovar) – On March 8, a briefing on preparations for the UN Conference on the Midterm Review of the Water Decade (March 22-24, 2023, New York) was held at the Embassy of Tajikistan in the State of Kuwait with the participation of the Ambassador of the Netherlands in Kuwait Laurens Westhoff and Permanent Representative of the UN Secretary General in the country of residence, Dr. Assad Hafeez.
The Ambassador of Tajikistan Zuybaidullo Zubaydzoda gave brief information on the UN Water Conference in 2023 and informed the participants about the global initiatives of the President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon in the field of water, especially the International Decade of Action “Water for Sustainable Development, 2018-2028.”
The Ambassador of the Netherlands also expressed appreciation for his country’s co-chairmanship with Tajikistan and cooperation in this area, as well as the country’s global initiatives on water issues.
The Representative of the UN in the State of Kuwait, in turn, spoke about the importance of the Water Conference and its ideas, and praised the successful co-chairing of Tajikistan in the preparation for this Conference.
The briefing was held with the presence of a wide range of media representatives of the State of Kuwait.
