Tajikistan and Iran Plan to Hold a Meeting of Heads of Rescue Departments on Glacier Protection in Dushanbe

DUSHANBE, 13.03.2024 (NIAT Khovar) – The delegation of Tajikistan led by the Chairman of the Committee for Emergency Situations and Civil Defense Rustam Nazarzoda visited Iran.
The delegation got acquainted with the work of the National Organization for Natural Disaster Management of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Iran.
The Committee’s Chairman held meetings with the Vice President, the Minister of Internal Affairs, the Head of the National Organization for Disaster Management of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Iran and others.
The meetings focused on issues of further cooperation in the field of protection from hail clouds, dust storms, early warning of mudflows and landslides, as well as civil defense.
The Committee proposed to hold a meeting of the heads of emergency departments of the member states of the Executive Council of the Asia-Pacific Center for the Development of Disaster Risk Information Management on the issue of glacier protection in Dushanbe in the second half of September 2024, and in the second half of October — meeting of the heads of rescue departments of the member states of the Economic Cooperation Organization.
