Bishkek Hosts Opening of Tajik Cinema Days

As part of the Days of Culture of the Republic of Tajikistan in the Kyrgyz Republic, the opening ceremony of the Days of Tajik Cinema was held in Bishkek.
The event was attended by the culture ministers of Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan, representatives of government agencies, diplomatic missions, cultural and artistic circles, members of the film community, intellectuals from both countries and cinema audiences.
In their remarks, the ministers said the Days of Tajik Cinema represent an important part of cultural and humanitarian cooperation between the two countries and contribute to strengthening friendship, good-neighborly relations and mutual understanding between the peoples of Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan.
The speakers also noted the important role of cinematography in promoting intercultural dialogue, preserving spiritual and moral values and showcasing the historical and cultural heritage of the peoples of Central Asia. They said joint cultural initiatives help expand humanitarian ties between the two states.
As part of the program, Tajik feature films are being screened at Ala-Too Cinema. The schedule includes the screening of Life is Beautiful on May 18, The Story of Rustam on May 19 and The Path of Anger on May 20.
