Official welcoming ceremony was held for Emomali Rahmon at Colombo Bandaranaike International Airport
Today evening, the Founder of Peace and National Unity — Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, His Excellency Emomali Rahmon has arrived to the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka for a state visit.
At the Colombo Bandaranaike International Airport, the President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon was sincerely welcomed by the Prime Minister of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka Ranil Wickremesinghe.
The Colombo Bandaranaike International Airport has been tastefully decorated with colourful banners inscribed with welcoming slogans. The guard of honor lined up on both sides of the red carpet.
Official delegations of Tajikistan and Sri Lanka have also lined up in order to meet the President of the Republic of Tajikistan.
After a welcoming ceremony, the Head of State of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon made an entry in the golden book of honorable guests with the wishes of a greater prosperity and strengthening friendship between the peoples of Tajikistan and Sri Lanka.
It should be noted that this visit is the first and at the same time the first state visit of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, His Excellency Emomali Rahmon to the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka, and provides for important intergovernmental activities, including bilateral meetings and high-level talks, special talks and meetings with senior leaders of this country, the signing ceremony of a new package of documents on bilateral cooperation between Tajikistan and Sri Lanka.
