DUSHANBE, 17.09.2017. /NIAT “Khovar”/. The Founder of Peace and National Unity — Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, His Excellency Emomali Rahmon met with President of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan Mamnoon Hussain on the sidelines of an official opening of the 2017 Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games in Ashgabat.
«We express satisfaction with the political relations between Tajikistan and Pakistan, including at the highest level», — said the Head of State Emomali Rahmon, and added that today’s level of trust and cooperation between the two states will contribute to strengthening friendly relations and multilateral cooperation.
The sides stressed mutual readiness to increase the trade turnover between the two countries, strengthen the work of the Joint Council of Entrepreneurs of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, the Joint Energy and Infrastructure Group.
Both sides showed high willingness and interest in developing and expanding interstate cooperation in the spheres of trade, economy, road construction and transport, energy, construction of small and medium hydroelectric power stations and power transmission lines, industrial processing of mountain minerals, agriculture, security, defense, and culture.
