Emomali Rahmon attended 16th Ministerial Conference of Central Asian Regional Economic Cooperation
DUSHANBE, 27.10.2017. /NIAT “Khovar”/. The Founder of Peace and National Unity – Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan His Excellency Emomali Rahmon attended the 16th Ministerial Conference of Central Asian Regional Economic Cooperation (CAREC) Programme in Dushanbe.
Other participants in the session included delegates from Asian Development Bank (ADB), the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), the International Monetary Fund (IMF), the Islamic Development Bank (IDB), the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), the World Bank (WB), the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB), the European Commission (EC), the Eurasian Development Bank (EDB), the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP), the World Trade Organization (WTO), the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).
Economic experts from Tajikistan, Azerbaijan, Afghanistan, Georgia, Kazakhstan, China, Kyrgyzstan, Mongolia, Pakistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, the United States, Japan and the United Kingdom have been also invited to attend the session.
In his address the head of state Emomali Rahmon extended his gratitude to the leadership of all states, organizations and other officials, who made efforts for promotion of the Central Asia Regional Economic Cooperation (CAREC) Program.
The Leader of the Nation Emomali Rahmon highly assessed the CAREC Program, by taking into account the Region’s priorities, particularly focuses on formulation of a system of partnership between the countries and development of its economic strategy.
In other words, President Emomali Rahmon pointed out that we all understand very well that ensuring the competitiveness of our national economies and formulation of regional common markets is critical for the region within the globalization.
Taking into account the turn-of-the-century challenges facing modern world and in order to further expansion of beneficial cooperation between CAREC participating states President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon emphasized several points important to achieve CAREC objectives.
In conclusion, President Emomali Rahmon reiterated his country’s commitment for enhancement of beneficial cooperation with all countries and development partners – parties to CAREC.
President of Tajikistan voiced hope that our wider integration and cooperation will promote socio-economic development and thereby further prosperity of our countries thoroughly.
Following keynote address of the Founder of Peace and National Unity – Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan His Excellency Emomali Rahmon, the President of the Asian Development Bank (ADB), Mr. Takehiko Nakao delivered an address, during which he expressed his appreciation to the Tajik side and to President Emomali Rahmon for the warm welcome and excellent organisation of the summit.
