Development of Tajik-Indian relations discussed in Beijing
DUSHANBE, 30.05.2018 /NIAT “Khovar”/. First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan Nizomiddin Zohidi, as part of his participation in the meeting of the SCO-Afghanistan Contact Group, met with Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of India Gitesh Sarma in Beijing.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan, the parties discussed ways of development of Tajik-Indian relations at the current stage and prospects for cooperation between the two countries in various fields. They also had an exchange of views on the situation in the region, including in Afghanistan.
The parties noted the great importance of the forthcoming summit of the heads of state of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization in June 2018 in Qingdao, China, as well as the meeting of the Council of Heads of Government (Prime Ministers) of the SCO member states in October 2018 in Dushanbe in the development and deepening of cooperation between the SCO member states, including between Tajikistan and India.
