DUSHANBE, 20.06.2018. /NIAT «Khovar»/. On the sidelines of the International High-level Conference on International Decade for Action “Water for Sustainable Development”, 2018-2028, the Founder of Peace and National Unity — Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon held talks with the President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow.

The two leaders discussed current matters relating to bilateral relations, as well as access to clean and safe drinking water.

The Head of State Emomali Rahmon shared his view on active participation of the leader of friendly state — Turkmenistan in the International High-level Conference on International Decade for Action “Water for Sustainable Development”, 2018-2028 as a vivid manifestation of support for the world initiatives of our country.

During the sincere meeting the two sides exchanged views on a harmonious position of the countries in problems and solutions to safe drinking water, as well as providing regional security and joint addressing of modern challenges and threats.

Both sides expressed satisfaction with the current level of bilateral cooperation between Tajikistan and Turkmenistan, in particular the packages of documents that were previously signed, outlined the development of partnerships and the expansion of cooperation in priority areas, such as economy, investment, transportation, agricultural, scientific, education, cultural, humanitarian and tourism spheres.

They also noted the importance of the establishment of commercial missions and that the Tajik-Turkmen Council of Entrepreneurs could promote further expansion of economic cooperation for the benefit of the two nations.

During the meeting other issues being of mutual interest were also discussed.
