FM Muhriddin Attends 13th Central Asia – Korea Cooperation Forum

DUSHANBE, 25.11.2020 (NIAT Khovar) – Today, the Minister of Foreign Affairs Sirojiddin Muhriddin attended the 13th Central Asia – Korea Cooperation Forum in the Korean capital.
While delivering his speech, Muhriddin stressed the views of Tajikistan on the development of multifaceted cooperation within the forum and the use of its opportunities to strengthen cooperation and sustainable development in the region.
He stressed that cooperation with Korea, including in the framework of the forum and other regional cooperation tools is of special importance to Tajikistan, which considers the forum as an important tool for development and strengthening partnership between its member states.
The forum included separate virtual sessions on standardization, public health, the environment and distance education.

The participants stressed the importance of the issues discussed and considered it necessary to implement specific projects that reflect the common interests of its member countries.
Although Central Asian states have similar forms of cooperation with other countries, the Central Asia — Korea Forum is the only one that has established its own Secretariat.
Following the meeting, the Joint Statement and the Work Plan of the Forum Secretariat for 2021 were adopted.
