DUSHANBE, 11.12.2020 (NIAT Khovar) – Minister of Foreign Affairs Sirojiddin Muhriddin took part in a regular meeting of the CIS Ministerial Council via videoconference.
The ministers exchanged views on priority areas of cooperation within the CIS.
The focus centered around the issues of deepening multilateral cooperation within the CIS in trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres, as well as in the field of security.
Muhriddin noted that the current crisis has led to a decrease in the pace of domestic and foreign trade, business activity, affected cooperation in the fields of investment, tourism and transport, and endangered food security of the CIS member states.
In this regard, the urgency of taking the necessary measures for an adequate joint response to emerging challenges and threats was emphasized.
Considering the announcement of Dushanbe as the CIS cultural capital in 2021, Muhriddin noted that with the improvement of the sanitary and epidemiological situation, Tajikistan intends to hold a series of events next year with the participation of cultural and art workers.
Following the meeting, the ministers adopted 12 decisions.
