DUSHANBE, 12.02.2021 (NIAT Khovar) – The International Festival of Professional Theaters with the participation of 18 countries was held online from October 15 through October 25, 2020 in New Jersey, where for the first time Tajikistan was represented by Mahmudjon Vohidov State Youth Theater’s Dirafshi Koviyoni performance of Abulqosim Firdavsi. This was stated today at a press conference by Minister of Culture Zulfiya Davlatzoda.
She added that currently four sectoral programs are funded from the national budget, including the State Program for the Protection of Historical and Cultural Heritage for 2012-2020, the State Program for the Training of Specialists in the Field of Culture, Arts and Publishing for 2018-2022, State Program for the Protection of Intangible Cultural Heritage for 2013-2020, and the State Program for the Development of Cultural Institutions for 2016-2020.
“With government’s support, several elements of Tajik national culture were included in the UNESCO World Representative List. In this regard, the nominations of the Sada holiday, national fabrics Adras and Atlas, Kashidaduzi, Falak music, Rubob national instrument, Hulbuk historical monument, Kokhi Navruz architectural complex, Khoja Nasriddin’s jokes were also added,” she said.
