DUSHANBE, 17.02.2021 (NIAT Khovar) – Today, the Minister of Foreign Affairs Sirojiddin Muhriddin received the Secretary General of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) Stanislav Zas who is in Tajikistan on a working visit.
The parties exchanged views on the maintenance of peace and stability in the area of responsibility of the organization, timely response to modern challenges and threats, as well as building up interaction between the member states in the political-diplomatic, military, military-technical and military-economic spheres.
In the context of Tajikistan’s presidency in the CSTO, Muhriddin noted the country’s focus on close interaction with the Secretariat and other bodies of the organization to progressively advance the priority areas of the chairmanship.
They also exchanged views on further coordination of foreign policy positions, convergence of the approaches of the member states on regional and international issues, and discussed the preparations for the upcoming off-season meeting of the CSTO Council of Foreign Ministers scheduled to be held this spring in Tajikistan.
