Dushanbe Will Host the Heart of Asia-Istanbul Process Ministerial Conference

DUSHANBE, 26.03.2021 (NIAT Khovar) – On March 29-30, Dushanbe will host the Heart of Asia-Istanbul Process 9th Ministerial Conference on strengthening consensus for peace and development.
This year’s event will be chaired by Tajikistan and sponsored by Tajikistan and Afghanistan.
On March 29, a personal meeting of the heads of state will take place, and the ministers of the participating countries will hold a joint meeting.
On March 30, a conference will be held with the participation of President Emomali Rahmon and the Afghan President Ashraf Ghani.
According to the agenda, the focus of the meeting will be on strengthening the international community in the interests of peace and development in Afghanistan.
The Dushanbe Declaration will be adopted at the conference.
The Istanbul Conference for Afghanistan, launched in 2011 at the initiative of Turkey aims to strengthen regional cooperation.
The Heart of Asia — Istanbul Process is an important regional platform for promoting stability, peace, and prosperity in the region, and facilitating political dialogue towards expanding Afghanistan’s ties with the entire region.
Afghanistan, Azerbaijan, China, India, Iran, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Tajikistan, Turkey, Turkmenistan, the United Arab Emirates and the UN take part in the Heart of Asia — Istanbul Process.
The last conference was held in Istanbul, Turkey in 2019.
