Strengthening Cooperation Between Tajikistan and WHO Discussed in Dushanbe

DUSHANBE, 03.12.2021 (NIAT Khovar) – In order to further strengthen cooperation in various spheres of health, yesterday, the Minister of Health and Social Protection of the Population Jamoliddin Abdullozoda met with the head of the Country Office of the World Health Organization (WHO) in Tajikistan Viktor Olsavsky.
Abdullozoda highlighted the activities of the WHO Office in Tajikistan and its coordinating role in raising funds within the framework of the Donor Coordination Council for the implementation of various sectoral programs through the Global Fund, the World Bank, the Asian Development Bank, the European Union support program, and other international organizations.
The parties noted the need for supporting the implementation of the International Health Regulations.
The meeting also focused on expanding cooperation in mobilizing funds for the prevention and treatment of tuberculosis and HIV, strengthening primary health care based on the principles of family medicine, the pharmaceutical sector and logistics, and improving access to quality medicines.
