Tajikistan and the Netherlands Discuss Cooperation on Water Issues

DUSHANBE, 01.03.2022 (NIAT Khovar) – The Ambassador of Tajikistan Erkinkhon Rahmatullozoda met with the Inclusive Director of the Green Growth Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, Ambassador for Sustainable Development Rene van Hell in The Hague.
While discussing topical issues of bilateral cooperation, the parties emphasized the importance of cooperation between the countries on the issues of the water agenda, where both countries are leading, and welcomed the intention of the Dutch side to take an active part in the work of the upcoming conference on water issues in Dushanbe.
Ambassador Rahmatullozoda presented President Emomali Rahmon’s invitation to the Prime Minister of the Netherlands Mark Rutte.
On the same day, in the city of Delft in the Netherlands, Rahmatullozoda met with the Rector of the world-famous Delft Water Institute, Professor Eddie Moors.
The parties exchanged views on the fruitful cooperation of the countries in promoting the water agenda and discussed specific aspects of the upcoming water conference in Dushanbe organized within the framework of Tajikistan’s global initiatives.
Professor Moors noted his appreciation of the role and activities of Tajikistan in promoting the water agenda and announced his intention to participate in the work of the Dushanbe Water Conference (June 2022) and New York Water Conference (March 2023).
