Tajik Chess Players Will Take Part in the World Olympiad in India

DUSHANBE, 27.07.2022 (NIAT Khovar) – The combined team of Tajik chess players led by the Deputy Chairman of the Chess Federation Khurshed Vatanov left for India to participate in the World Chess Olympiad.
The Tajik chess team consists of 12 people, including 6 women and 6 men. The women’s team included Nadezhda Antonova, Mutriba Hotami, Sabrina Abrorova, Rukhshona Saidova, Lidia Antonova and Saodat Odinaeva.
The men’s team includes Muhammad Huseinkhojaev, Alisher Karimov, Mustafokhuja Huseinkhojaev, Mehriddin Sharifov, Ilhom Jaloliddin and Shorahmat Khisoriev.
The 45th World Chess Olympiad will be held from July 28 through August 9 in Indian Chennai. A record number of teams will take part in it — 188 men’s and 150 women’s.
The World Chess Olympiad has been held every 2 years since 1924.
In 2018, the World Chess Olympiad was held in Batumi (Georgia). Due to the coronavirus pandemic, the 2020 and 2021 Olympiads were held remotely.
