Cape Town Hosts Transforming the Future for Water Security Conference

DUSHANBE, 23.02.2023 (NIAT Khovar) – Multi-stakeholder dialogues between political, business, academic and other stakeholders to build alliances and take science-based action took place as part of the event in Cape Town, South Africa.
The Transforming Future for Water Security conference is organized by the International Institute for Water Management.
The conference aims to raise water ambitions and bridge the gaps between science, policy and action so that water research and innovation can better contribute to accelerating SDG 6 and progress towards water security for all.
During the dialogues, 6-7 missions were proposed that will set a series of transformative goals for science-based action on water security. The event is dedicated to the UN Water Conference, which will be held from March 22 through March 24 this year in New York, co-chaired by Tajikistan and the Netherlands. The missions are expected to be registered as voluntary commitments in the Water Agenda for Action.
The representative of Tajikistan in the Executive Committee of IFAS, a member of the working group on preparations for the UN Conference on Water Resources in 2023 Sanoi Boyzoda informed the participants about the work done during the preparatory process for the UN Conference on Water Resources.
He also noted the importance of the 2nd Dushanbe Conference and how this event influenced the preparations for the 2023 UN Water Conference.
Boyzoda called for participation in the 2023 UN Water Conference and joining forces to make it a success.
