Tajikistan Receives Over 2,5 Million Doses of Measles and Rubella Vaccine

DUSHANBE, 05.07.2023 (NIAT Khovar) – On July 3, Tajikistan received 2,551,000 doses of measles and rubella vaccine.
The Ministry of Health and Social Protection of the Population plans to carry out a measles vaccination campaign among children aged from 6 months through 15 years, who make up 2,633,054.
On February 27, 2021, by the Governmental Decree was adopted the National Immunization Program in Tajikistan for 2021-2025.
The program was developed with the aim of ensuring the sanitary and epidemiological safety of the country’s population, preventing the spread of infectious diseases through controlled immunization, sustainably maintaining the status of a free country from paralysis diseases and increasing the availability and efficiency of medical care, improving maternal and child health, ensuring longevity of the population and strengthening primary health care-sanitary assistance.
In order to fulfill the points of the program, with the constant support of the Government and development partners, vaccines are gradually imported into the republic.
For six months of 2023, 2,430,000 doses of various vaccines for the prevention of infectious diseases through guided immunization were imported into Tajikistan.
