Presidential Assistance Delivers to Residents Affected by Natural Disasters in the Roshtkala District

DUSHANBE, 10.07.2023 (NIAT Khovar) – The President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon provided assistance in the form of essential goods, clothing and building materials in order to timely eliminate the consequences of the natural disaster in the Roshtkala district and build residential buildings for residents affected by the natural disaster.
Currently, the affected residents are temporarily accommodated in the Shabdez boarding house of the district, and all the necessary conditions have been created for them.
In order to support the families affected by the natural disaster, food products and cash assistance, as well as household utensils and building materials were provided earlier to the affected families.
Since June 27, within a few days, as a result of a mudflow in the Medenved village of the Roshtkala district, the water level increased in the Shohdara River, 15 residential buildings were completely and partially destroyed, as well as the primary education institution, gardens and agricultural lands were flooded.
With the support of the government, 20 households whose living quarters were located in the danger zone were moved to safe places, and following solving problems, they returned to their places.
Collective efforts made it possible to restore the damaged road in a short period of time and provide 7,000 residents with electricity and drinking water.
Today, work continues to open the channel of the artificial reservoir. After completion of this measure, 20 hectares of land under water will be introduced into agricultural circulation.
Along with the elimination of the damage caused, the construction of houses in a safe place has begun to people who lost their homes.
In the course of the work, the builders were instructed to complete the planned structures in terms of quality assurance.
