Meeting of the Tajik delegation with the Deputy Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund

On October 14, during the annual meetings of the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund, Tajik delegation, led by Minister of Finance Faiziddin Qahhorzoda and Chairman of the National Bank of Tajikistan Firdavs Tolibzoda, met with Bo Li, Deputy Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund.
At the meeting, the parties commended their cooperation and emphasized the successful implementation of the Policy Coordination Program in Tajikistan and its role in developing cooperation with the International Monetary Fund.
The parties discussed the importance of continuing reforms, strengthening the digitalization of the financial system, capacity building, and technical support from the International Monetary Fund. Furthermore, the Tajik side proposed using the Resilience and Recovery Facility to attract concessional financing.
Finally, the parties emphasized the need to further strengthen cooperation in public finance management, improve the investment climate, expand technical assistance, and consider the possibility of transitioning to an International Monetary Fund financing program in the future.
