Tajikistan, United States discuss expansion of energy cooperation and joint projects

Tajikistan’s ambassador to the United States, Zavqi Zavqizoda, met with Tommy Joyce, U.S. assistant secretary of energy for international affairs, to discuss expanding bilateral cooperation in the energy sector.
According to NIAT Khovar, citing the Tajik Embassy in Washington, the sides expressed readiness to implement agreements reached by President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon and U.S. President Donald Trump in November 2025.
The agreements focus on expanding energy cooperation, including projects in Tajikistan to build data centers, solar power plants and energy storage systems, with the involvement of advanced U.S. technology and expertise.
