Tajikistan Proposes SCO Industrial Investment Project Database

A Tajik delegation led by Minister of Industry and New Technologies Sherali Kabir participated in a meeting of Shanghai Cooperation Organization industry ministers held June 4–5 in Cholpon-Ata, Kyrgyzstan, according to the Embassy of Tajikistan in Kyrgyzstan.
Officials discussed industrial cooperation, the development of sustainable production chains, joint investment projects, and expanded collaboration in modern technologies and industrial modernization.
Kabir said the SCO serves as an important platform for strengthening industrial and investment ties among countries in the region with significant resource, production, and scientific potential.
He noted that Tajikistan’s policy of rapid industrialization has supported steady economic growth and led to a doubling of industrial output in recent years.
The Tajik minister highlighted priority sectors including mining, metallurgy, textiles, food processing, and other value-added industries. He also pointed to Tajikistan’s potential in extracting and processing strategic minerals, including rare earth metals used in green and digital technologies.
Tajik officials also proposed creating a database of industrial investment projects among SCO member states to improve coordination and project development.
On the sidelines of the meeting, Kabir attended the opening of the Ala-Too Trade & Industry Expo in Bishkek, featuring more than 90 companies from six countries, including Tajik industrial producers showcasing export and investment opportunities.
