Nearly 1,000 women entrepreneurs apply for Tajikistan’s 2026 presidential grants

DUSHANBE, July 17, 2026 (NIAT Khovar) — A total of 945 projects have been submitted by women entrepreneurs to compete for Tajikistan’s presidential grants for 2026 aimed at supporting and developing women’s entrepreneurship, the Committee on Women and Family Affairs under the Government of Tajikistan reported.
The submitted projects are currently being reviewed by the competition commission.
According to Committee Chairperson Bunafsha Fayziddinzoda, presidential grants serve as an important mechanism for supporting women’s businesses, contributing to improved household incomes, more efficient use of family budgets, increased participation of women in economic activities and the expansion of entrepreneurship.
In 2025, 200 women entrepreneurs and artisans received presidential grants worth a total of 15 million somoni. The implementation of these projects resulted in the creation of 1,225 new jobs.
The supported initiatives covered various sectors, including orchard and greenhouse development, garment production, traditional crafts, livestock farming, confectionery, beekeeping, fish farming, printing services, women’s fitness centers, beauty salons, training centers, food processing, medicinal plant processing and jam production.
The presidential grant program is implemented under the Government’s resolution “On Presidential Grants of the Republic of Tajikistan to Support and Develop Women’s Entrepreneurship for 2021–2026.”
