Tajik Foreign Minister Aslov spoke at the meeting of the Group of Latin America and Caribbean Countries
Dushanbe, 26.02.2016. (NIAT “Khovar”). – Foreign Minister Sirodjidin Aslov spoke at a meeting of the Group of Latin America and Caribbean Countries under the chairmanship of the Permanent Representative of Uruguay to the United Nations in New York.
According to Tajik MFA Information Department, in his statement the Minister of Foreign Affairs has briefed the Group on the contribution of Tajikistan in implementation of the Global Sustainable Development Agenda, including in such spheres as economic and social development, gender equality, fight against illicit drug trafficking, natural disasters prevention, education etc. and has expressed the readiness of Tajikistan to continue its cooperation with the interested countries on the abovementioned issues.
In conclusion, the Minister has called upon the Latin America and Caribbean Countries to support the candidature of Tajikistan to the membership in the Economic and Social Council for the term 2017-2019, at the elections to be held on 14 June 2016 at the United Nations General Assembly.
