Anvar Yunusov takes second place at the Baku World Boxing Tournament
Dushanbe, 29.06.2016 /NIAT “Khovar”/. The well-known Tajik boxer Anvar Yunusov has become the second at the World Licensed Boxing Tournament among men, which took place from June 16 to 25 in Baku. The tournament was attended by 375 athletes from 92 countries of the world.
According to the National Olympic Committee of Tajikistan, taking part at the final in the weight category up to 60 kg, A. Yunusov was defeated by his opponent, Dutchman Enrico Le Cruz with a score 0:3. However, despite this, according to the results of competitions the Tajik boxer won a berth to Rio de Janeiro Olympic Games 2016.
To date, the right to participate in Rio de Janeiro Olympic Games was granted to five Tajik athletes. The first berth to Olympic Games among Tajik athletes was won by a known striker Dilshod Nazarov, then the Tajik wrestlers Komronshoh Ustopiriyon and Muhammadmurod Abdurahmonov, athlete Davron Ataboev and boxer Anvar Yunusov.
