Trade turnover between Tajikistan and Kazakhstan increased by 25 %
DUSHANBE, 13.02.2018. /NIAT “Khovar”/. The trade turnover between the Republic of Tajikistan and the Republic of Kazakhstan in 2017 amounted to 840 million US dollars and increased by 25% compared to 2016. Import of goods from Kazakhstan amounted to 515 million US dollars, and exports — 325 million US dollars with increasing by 130 million US dollars. It was stated at the 14th meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation between the Republic of Tajikistan and the Republic of Kazakhstan, which was held yesterday, February 12 in Dushanbe.
The correspondent of the NIAT “Khovar” informs that the meeting was attended by representatives of ministries, departments and economic entities of Tajikistan and Kazakhstan. The parties discussed a wide range of important issues of bilateral cooperation, including the main areas of cooperation in the spheres of economy and trade, investment, banking and finance activity, transport, environmental protection, civil aviation, industry, emergency situations and civil defense, education and science, agriculture, migration, energy and water resources, health, culture, sport and tourism.
The Commission recommended all state bodies and business entities of the parties to take the necessary measures to deepen mutual cooperation and create an enabling condition for the growth of trade turnover between the Republic of Tajikistan and the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The parties also discussed issues of expanding mutual cooperation in attracting investments, creating joint ventures, as well as enhancing fruitful cooperation, implementing joint economic and investment projects.
Following the results of the 14th meeting was signed an agreement on cooperation between the subjects of both countries.
