Citizens and Entrepreneurs Conduct 3.7 Million Non-Cash Transactions via POS Terminals and E-Wallets

DUSHANBE, July 26, 2026 (NIAT Khovar) – In the first half of 2026, individuals and individual entrepreneurs carried out 3.7 million non-cash transactions worth more than 1.6 billion somoni through POS terminals and electronic wallets of financial institutions, Chairman of the Tax Committee under the Government of Tajikistan Nusratullo Davlatzoda announced at a press conference on July 22.
Davlatzoda noted that, as part of efforts to digitalize the tax sector, simplify and make the tax system more transparent, and facilitate tax payment procedures, tax authorities are actively using modern technological solutions. Measures are being implemented to expand electronic public services, support the development of e-government, and advance the transition to a digital economy.
Over recent years, the range of software modules within the tax information system and electronic tax services has significantly expanded. Through these platforms, more than 50 electronic services have been introduced for taxpayers and citizens.
It was reported that during the reporting period, the number of taxpayers submitting declarations electronically increased by 14,000, and currently all business entities submit their tax declarations and reports to tax authorities in electronic form.
It was also noted that during the first six months of the year, more than 1,400 consultations were conducted across cities and districts of the country on issues related to compliance with tax legislation, electronic submission of reports and declarations, the use of tax software modules, electronic public services, including the “My Tax” mobile application, implementation of a pilot project on taxation of individual entrepreneurs, prevention of violations, and other tax-related matters.
