PamirInvest-2026: 57 investment agreements worth over 6.5 billion somoni signed at international forum

DUSHANBE, July 26, 2026 (NIAT Khovar) — A total of 57 agreements worth more than 6.58 billion somoni were signed at the PamirInvest-2026 International Investment Forum held on July 24 in Khorugh, Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Province, aimed at attracting investment and promoting economic development in the region.

The forum was organized by the State Committee on Investment and State Property Management of the Republic of Tajikistan in cooperation with the Badakhshan Entrepreneurs Association. It brought together representatives of diplomatic missions, domestic and foreign investors, business communities, development partners and government officials.

The event focused on presenting the economic potential of Gorno-Badakhshan, expanding public-private cooperation and attracting domestic and foreign investment.

Before the forum, participants visited an exhibition showcasing industrial and agricultural products, as well as traditional handicrafts produced in the region.

It was noted that over the past five years, within the framework of the national industrial development programme (2022–2026), 174 industrial enterprises have been established in the province, while construction of another 30 facilities is underway.

The forum highlighted progress in key sectors, including transport, energy, agriculture and tourism. Among major projects, the completion of a section of the Dushanbe–Khorugh–Kulma international highway from Darvoz district to the entrance of Rushon district was noted, with further construction stages set to continue.

In the energy sector, the commissioning of the Sebzor hydropower plant in Roshtqala district and the development of solar power facilities in Murghab district have contributed to strengthening the region’s energy capacity. Feasibility studies for the construction of the Sanobod hydropower plant in Rushon district and other energy projects are also ongoing.

Representatives of local and foreign companies, as well as development partners, discussed opportunities for cooperation in industry, energy, tourism, agriculture and other sectors, expressing readiness to expand investment partnerships.

The agreements signed at the forum are expected to support the implementation of new investment projects and contribute to the socio-economic development of Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Province.
