DUSHANBE, July 24, 2026 (NIAT Khovar) – Prospects for establishing a non-ferrous metals industrial cluster in Tajikistan’s Sughd Region were discussed during a meeting in Shanghai between the Minister of Industry and New Technologies of Tajikistan, Sherali Kabir, and the President of China’s Tibet Everest company, Huang Jiangrong, founder of the Tajik-Chinese Mining Company joint venture.

According to the Ministry of Industry and New Technologies of Tajikistan, the parties also discussed the establishment of a special technology park equipped with modern metallurgical production facilities. Particular attention was given to the deep processing of mineral resources, the production of high-value-added products, and the expansion of industrial cooperation.

The proposed project is expected to contribute to the comprehensive development of Tajikistan’s mining and metallurgical sector by creating new jobs, attracting advanced technologies and foreign investment, and increasing the country’s export capacity. The development of the industrial cluster is also expected to strengthen cooperation among enterprises, reduce production costs, improve infrastructure, and support the training of highly qualified specialists.

The two sides reaffirmed their interest in advancing initiatives aimed at developing the non-ferrous metallurgy industry and establishing a modern industrial base in Tajikistan.

The planned technology park is expected to become an important step toward the country’s accelerated industrialization, strengthening its position in international markets, and enhancing the competitiveness of the national economy.
