Minister of Economic Development and Trade of Tajikistan, Abdurahmon Abdurahmonzoda, met with Takashi Nagaoka, director of the International Monetary Fund’s Regional Office for Asia and the Pacific, to discuss strengthening bilateral cooperation, human resource development and Tajikistan’s participation in the Japan-International Monetary Fund Scholarship Program for Asia (JISPA), according to the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade.

The two sides highlighted the importance of the JISPA program in training highly qualified specialists and strengthening the capacity of government institutions.

They also discussed expanding cooperation in training specialists in macroeconomic analysis, trade and investment policy, as well as artificial intelligence and the digital economy.

The meeting concluded with both sides expressing readiness to continue mutually beneficial cooperation and implement joint programs aimed at strengthening human and economic capacity.
