Tajikistan has confirmed its participation in Expo 2020 Dubai
DUSHANBE, 20.04.2018 /NIAT “Khovar”/. The Republic of Tajikistan has confirmed it will be participating in Expo 2020 Dubai.
Tajikistan to publicly confirm it will have a pavilion at the Expo 2020 Dubai. In total, 180 countries are expected to take part, according to Tajikistan’s Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI).
By government’s decree an organizing committee on preparations for participation in Expo Dubai 2020 has been set up. The committee is led by the first deputy prime minister.
The Ministry of Economic Development and Trade (MoEDT), CCI and some other relevant ministries and agencies have been ordered to elaborate measures to ensure proper preparation of Tajikistan for participation in Expo 2020.
Previously, Tajikistan have participated in the international exhibitions EXPO-67 (Montreal, Canada), EXPO-70 (Osaka, Japan), EXPO-2000 (Hannover, Germany), EXPO-2005 (Aichi, Japan) , World Expo 2010 (Shanghai, PRC), Expo 2012 (Yeosu Korea) and International Specialized Exhibition – EXPO 2017 (Astana, Kazakhstan).
The Expo 2020 Dubai themed Connecting Minds, Creating the Future will take place in Dubai starting from October 20, 2020 till April 10, 2021. It will have three subthemes — Opportunity, Mobility, and Sustainability.
Organizers expect up to 25 million visitors to attend the Al Wasl central plaza. Located midway between Dubai and Abu Dhabi, the main site of Expo Dubai 2020 will cover an area of 438-hectare. To date, some 170 countries have confirmed their participation in the Expo 2020 Dubai and 55 countries have signed the participation agreements.
