Tajik and Uzbek entrepreneurs signed agreements and contracts worth $ 100 million
DUSHANBE, 17.08.2018 / NIAT “Khovar”/. A business forum of business circles “Tajikistan – Uzbekistan” was held on August 16 in Tashkent. It was organized on the eve of the state visit of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon to the Republic of Uzbekistan, as well as within the framework of the exhibition “Goods from Tajikistan”, which takes place in Tashkent. NIAT “Khovar” has been reported by the press service of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Tajikistan.
The official opening of the business forum was attended by the Chairman of the State Committee for Investments and State Property Management of the Republic of Tajikistan Farrukh Hamralizoda, Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan Nodir Otajonov, chairmen of the chambers of commerce and industry: Tajikistan — Sharif Said and Uzbekistan — Adham Ikramov.
During the event, the parties had an exchange of views on a wide range of issues and held presentations on expanding bilateral cooperation.
It was noted that for the first half of 2018, bilateral trade turnover between the two states amounted to $ 150 million. Over the past year, more than 180 agreements and contracts totaling more than $ 730 million have been signed.
The business forum was organized to exchange experience and establish contacts.
Following the business forum, a signing ceremony of a number of agreements and contracts between Tajik and Uzbek entrepreneurs totaling more than $ 100 million was held.
At the end of the forum, an informal meeting of entrepreneurs took place.
