Paragliding and Hang Gliding Festival Will Be Held in Tajikistan this Summer
DUSHANBE, 10.01.2019 (NIAT Khovar) — An open ultra-light aviation festival called Parastui Avvalin, which translates as the first swallow, will take place on June 8-9 in Tajikistan.
The event is organized by the Federation of Mountaineering of Tajikistan (FMT) and the Ski Resort Safed-Dara.
This will be the first such large-scale festival in Tajikistan. Paragliders and hang gliders from Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Russia, Kyrgyzstan, France and other CIS and European countries will participate in the festival, reported the FMT.
“Paraglide pilots, hang-gliders, fans of model airplanes, kite-lovers and any other apparatus that can be raised to the sky, as well as viewers who are interested in an exciting air show can take part in the festival,” noted the source.
The festival is geared toward promoting a healthy lifestyle and to raise young people’s interest in sports.
Applications for participation are open for both teams and individuals.
Performances will be permitted only after a thorough equipment check, briefing on safety rules and familiarizing the pilot with flight obstacles and terminology.
