Dilshod Nazarov Takes Gold at the Asian Athletics Championships
DUSHANBE, 25.04.2019. (NIAT Khovar) – One of Tajikistan’s most famous athletes and an Olympic champion Dilshod Nazarov defeated all his rivals in the hammer throw competition at the Asian Athletics Championships in Doha, Qatar.
Nazarov will bringing home the gold medal after a throw recording 76.14 meters, reported an official of the National Olympic Committee of Tajikistan Umarali Safarali.
The second place was taken by a Qatari athlete Ashraf Al Saifi. A Tajik native Suhrob Khojaev, who represents Uzbekistan, won the bronze medal.
This is Nazarov’s fifth victory at the Asian Athletics Championships. He had taken gold in 2009, 2013, 2015 and 2017. He also holds two silver medals, which he had won in 2005 and 2007, and a bronze medal which he had earned in 2003 at the Asian Athletics Championships.
With one gold medal Tajikistan finished the competition in 13th place.
