Representatives Assembly Deputies Attend CSTO Parliamentary Assembly Meeting

DUSHANBE, 13.11.2020 (NIAT Khovar) – Yesterday, the Representatives Assembly Deputies Rustam Shohmurod, Sarvinoz Majidova, Mavludakhon Mirzozoda and Muhammadrahim Yusufi attended a meeting of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO), which was held via videoconference.
The meeting was headed by the Chairman of the Standing Committee of the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly on Defense and Security Issues Anatoly Vybornov. The CSTO deputies discussed topical issues of international and regional security and exchanged views on current issues that are included in the agenda of the organization at the present stage, reported the Spokesperson for the Representatives Assembly Muhammadato Sultonov.
The meeting also focused on the agenda of an extraordinary meeting of the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly commissions, the draft program for the functioning of the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly for the collection and coordination of national legislation of the CSTO member states for 2021-2025, and on introducing amendments to interim Regulation on the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly dated March 30, 2007, with subsequent amendments.
The Chairman of the Standing Committee of the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly on Defense and Security Issues Anatoly Vybornov, the Chairman of the Standing Committee of the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly on Socio-Economic and Legal Issues Igor Lavrinenko, and the Chairman of the Tajik Representatives Assembly Committee on Law Enforcement, Defense and Security Rustam Shohmurod noted that the meeting is a vivid proof of cooperation between the CSTO member states, the main idea of which is to unite and consolidate all member states of this organization.
It was also noted that today new threats and challenges to the security and stability of states are growing in the world, including in the area of CSTO’s responsibility, which requires an even greater strengthening of the integration of member states in a cohesive struggle against these negative phenomena.
Following the meeting, an Action Plan for new documents was signed, which was submitted for consideration to the upcoming meeting of the CSTO Council.
