Asian U-16, U-19 and Futsal Cups Will Not Take Place This Year

DUSHANBE, 18.01.2021 (NIAT Khovar) – The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) has decided to cancel this year’s Asian U-16, U-19 and futsal cups, reports the Football Federation of Tajikistan.
While considering the uncertainty and risks associated with the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as to protect the health and safety of competitors, the AFC has decided to cancel the 2021 Asian U-16 and U-19 Cups. Bahrain and Uzbekistan have reserved the right to host the AFC U-17 and U-20 finals in 2023.
The AFC has also canceled the Asian Futsal Cup, which was to be held from March 23 through April 3 this year in Kuwait.
According to the AFC decision, Kuwait retained the right to host the 16th Asian Futsal Cup in 2022, which will also be attended by Tajikistan.
The 2021 Asian Beach Soccer Cup, which was scheduled for this year in Thailand, will take place in 2023 in Bangkok.
